Branding, visual identity
Shinrin-Yoku Finland is the first certified Shinrin-Yoku service in Finland. Shinrin-Yoku forest walks originate from Japan and Shinrin-Yoku means literally “forest bath” in Japanese. On the walks, a certified guide will assist you with a series of invitations to slow you down, relax and awaken your senses and help you connect with nature in a deeply personal and unique way. You learn mindfully to be present in this moment and how to respect the more than human world.
The brief was to create a logo and website that would communicate the core idea of the practice and the walks. Shinrin-Yoku could be translated as ”to take in the forest atmosphere” so with the website, we wanted to transport the visitor inside the forest so that you could almost feel it. The look was to feel bright and playful yet serene and calm.
The organic and unique logo is made by brush and ink, just like the traditional Japanese letters. The leaf icons are made the same way. The colors are earthy greens and soft yellow that are repeated in the images. The brand images will evoke your senses to almost feel the textures, smell the fresh air, hear the birds and let you mind rest on the views of the forest.
